Regretfully Hertfordshire had to concede the EIBA National U25 Two Fours competition today as we could not field a team. We are working hard to address this for the future and hopefully will be able to address the situation in the future.

 

EIBA U25 Singles

I have noted that the U25 singles competition has only 6 entries this season again this is poor considering the number of juniors we now have in Hertfordshire Indoor clubs.

 

On that subject the National U25 Singles for 2011/12 season will be played at Watford IBC on Saturday 29th October 2011. Entries for this competition had to be submitted early in 2011 towards the end of the indoor season ready for the next season. It is hoped that by sending out this information now it may result in entries increasing in 2012/3.

 

The competition for this year has already been drawn and commences at 0930hrs. The competitors have already been informed of the draw.

 

The umpire for the day will be Keith Brain (Watford IBC)

 

The co-ordinator for the event will be Roger Jarvis (Chairman of Watford IBC) and all players should report to him in time for play.

 

Markers have been arranged and will be provided.

 

Breakfast and sandwiches will be available throughout the day for players, families and spectators.

 

National EBYDS Event

This event will be held at Riverain IBC on Sunday 22nd January and is being co-ordinated by Dan Sheehan. It is requested that all clubs urge their junior players to take part in this event which is enjoyed by players and spectators alike and it is hoped that clubs will encourage their junior players to practice the skills that will be used prior to the day. I have attached the documents which give guidelines relating to the skills that will be tested on the day.

 

HIBA U18 & U25 Singles

This event will be held at Watford IBC on Saturday/Sunday 18th/19th Feb 2012. Juniors who wish to participate are requested to contact John Hay who will be co-ordinating the event. The finals will be played at Hatfield IBC over the period of 16/17/18th March 2012. Competitors who qualify will be notified of the finals programme and timings by Alan Lewington HIBA Comp. Sec.

 

Hertfordshire Indoor Bowls are seeking to further develop and enhance activities for our junior players and hope that each club will encourage and support its junior players to participate in these events.
